Keep Your Stanley Cup, I'll Stick With My Bink Bottle
Disclaimer: This is NOT a paid endorsement! 🍼💦
I’m always skeptical of products that go viral online. The appeal of the Stanley cup was completely lost on me, mostly because of its massive size (40 ounces!!!), but I assumed that the hype would expire by 2024. Reader, I was wrong. So, I was shocked when a few friends disclosed that these beloved cups are susceptible to leaks about a month ago. That sort of defeats the whole purpose of using them, no? Why is no one talking about this??? Anyway, my last thought on this is that the Stanley cup sort of reminds me of a big sippy cup. The thirst is real, moving on!
The only tumbler that I trust for hot beverages is Kinto- I love mine so much that I recently upgraded to the 17 oz size and it has not disappointed me. I can’t quit you! Last year, I added a Bink bottle to the rotation for optimal hydration and sipping through the straw continues to bring me so much joy. (I must warn you that the 27 oz bottle is heavy to lift when it’s full, but I treat it as a light lifting exercise.) Although it hasn’t achieved status symbol level yet, I believe in its potential. Watch this space…
Lastly, I’ve been thinking about investing in a fancy Walter water filter, but am on the fence after reading Wirecutter’s extensive analysis of the Berkey Water Filter System. It’s also super expensive compared to affordable alternatives like Brita so if I’m going to make the splurge I want to be ten toes down. (For the record, I’m a water snob—I would rather have cracked lips than drink a bottle of Aquafina or Dasani, I can taste the difference.) If anyone has testimonials to share, please drop a note. Completely unrelated to everything I’ve covered today, I started taking dance classes again and already feel better in my body. I’m reclaiming the act of movement on my own terms and I’m proud of myself for finally taking this step after years of wanting to do it and not following through. In closing, I’ll leave you with these three songs:
“Soap Party”- Nourished by Time
“Water Water”- Empress Of
“Water Me”- FKA twigs
